A friend of mine does glass etching to sell at Christmas craft fairs.   So I commissioned a
set of glasses and had originally intended to donate them to the club door prize draws.
But since it's already close to Christmas and I won't be making the meeting this month,
and my wife really likes them too, I decided I will keep them.

However, there may be club members who might want a set and I can arrange for my
friend to do some more.   They are $15 a set (2 mugs). No commission to me.

Those are pretty nice. I might get a set if your friend is willing to do more.

I don't know what's involved in regards to etching the glass, but how difficult would it be to do sets of glasses with a simplified silhouetted image of a notchie on one glass and a fast-back on the other?

I think you need to provide a very high contrast photograph to use as a template. Hence a two colour logo is pretty easy.

I just got an email from my friend. If you are interested in getting a set of cups, you should get your order in ASAP if you want it in time for Christmas.   My understanding is it takes more than a few minutes to get the etching done on each glass.

Cheers.

Yes...you can put the club logo on also. But it might be too late to do for Christmas now.

Just got this note from Kathy today...

Quote Just checked the Fiero forum. Yes, I can do the club logo but only
with the word Fiero and the car. The other lettering would be too difficult by
hand at this point. If I get the Wishblade set up after Christmas I should
have better options once I figure out how to use it to convert photos to
vector files and upload them. If I knew of an order for mugs by Monday,
December 12 I could get it done before Christmas.

I have an order of 6 bottles to etch with seahorses. I plan to work on this
order this weekend. The woman is providing the glass so I hope it etches.
Some glass won’t etch. Too high a silica content or something. I’ve had a
couple of really nice items to etch and, after doing all the stencils and
covering, nothing. It looked as clear as when I bought it, only cleaner, as it
got dusty on the store shelves.

Ken If she can do the 2nd designer I'll take a set of 6.  The ones that have the Pegasus the word Fiero on them.

I can pay you whenever you would like, or let me know where she is located and I'll take payment directly to you her when the job is done.

I just wanted to say Thank You to Ken for providing us with Kathy's information.  She dropped off my Glasses on Saturday and I am really happy.  She seemed to do each one of the 6 a little different so that guests can tell their cups apart.  Some have frosted handles, some Fiero the Fiero logo on the left vs the right side, some of Fiero written on the base as well.  Really nice.  Here are the pics of the set.
