Ok I'll let Dawg or Capt add the details. But here's the basics.
Saturday June 4th is Jet City Fiero's HUGE Fiero Picnic at the Arlington Ultra Light Airport.
There is ZERO cost to attend. This is not a show, you won't be judged, it doesn't matter if you have a daily driver, a project car, or super show car that you want to show off.
We start at 10:00AM and end around 4:00PM
It's an amazing blast. There are clubs from all over the Northwest USA and Canada that are going to be attending. It's a family friendly event. Please leave alcohol at home.
Bring your own food, There will be a BIG grill for all to use and a delicious cake provided by Jet City Fieros.
We will have a lift again this year to take pictures with an eye in the sky view.
PLEASE use the Sign Up page. http://www.arlington.westcoastfieros.com This is so we can have a rough idea of how many people to plan for. There are MAPS, Video's, PICS and all sorts of cool stuff at the link.
About the only rules are Please don't go drag racing on the paved runway regardless of how much fun it looks like it would be.
Here's a link to the http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/085508.html#p0 - Pennock's Thread
Looking forward to another great Picnic See you there, -Steve

June 4th 2011
6:15am-6:45am
We will meet at the Tim Horton's just East of the Corner of HWY 10 and 152nd Street in Surrey at that time we will all check our Radio's and set all radios to channel 20 sub channel 0. If you have spare GMRS radio's please bring them as it would be nice to see a radio in every car. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD BATTERIES. Most people grab coffee and a pop while we look over the cars.
Special Note, if you have Extra Radio's. Please bring them. I want to make sure that everyone gets at least one.
VOX IS NOT PERMITTED ON THE DRIVE. If your radio has VOX capability Please do not use it. VOX is the Voice Activated portion of some Radios. It might be great in the forest, but in a car on the highway with cabin noise, and wind and stereos they have a tendency to activate the radio and lock out anyone else from talking.
6:45 we will leave and head for the border Crossing at 176th street.. Make sure to have your Passport with your driver’s license with you.
After we all clear customs we will regroup at the Chevron on the left side of the street just across the border for those that wish to fill up with the cheaper American fuel. Then I-5 and Jet City watch out here we come.
We will make one stop on the way down at a rest area about midway. Please keep your radio’s, ears and eyes open for our pull off. This is a great time for the slower people to catch up
That's pretty much it till we get to Arlington
8:45am Arrive at Arlington
Take exit 206 and head east about 3-4 blocks to a Food Mart there will be a grocery store on the right, where we can buy picnic supplies.
Money from the Club Funds pays for our basic food and drinks. If you want a 10oz T-Bone. Ya better Buy anything you want specialty grilled IE steaks and sauces. The club will be buying, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, salad, condiments, pop and water. This entire procedure usually takes about an hour.
We will then caravan to the ultra light air field for the actual picnic
The picnic starts at 10am

The club would like to pick up the non food items up here.
IE
Paper Plates, Forks, Knives, Spoons, assorted storage containers that can be given to the JCF guys for food leftovers. Napkins, even if allowed some condiments and other items that are OK to go through the boarder wtih and not get flagged into the office. If anyone has any of these items and would like to donate them that would be awesome, or let us know where is a good place to pick them up. Lisa is thinking the discount dollar type stores would be our best bet.

LOL, In all seriousness you and Gina have to be there, we really miss you when you guys aren't able to attend a run and trust me when you are absent I must get asked 1/2 dozen times at an event hey where is John and his chopper.
So pack your stuff cause your coming regardless if we have to come to your place, stuff you in your own trunk and drag you screaming over the blower whine.

I'd go anyway and use the expired passport. Just act dumb and pretend you had no idea it expired. I mean heck, it just very recently expired. Take all kinds of other ID along as well. The worst they can do is turn you back.

I suppose that's an option, except I suspect not everyone from the club would be interested in the game. And that would divide our convoy on the trip back.

In any event, I'm recording the game so that I can watch it at some point when I get back.
The game better not go longer than one period of overtime as I've set the DVD-recorder on EP mode which puts four hours on a disc. More than four hours per disc and the video quality sucks.
Yeah, I admit that a PVR is superior when it comes to long broadcasts and not being home to swap in a second disc.

After checking http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1786&PN=2&TPN=5 - This thread from last year's Arlington run, I noticed Tristan's first post upon returning. Make note of the time!

Great trip though. Totally worth the year and a half I've waited to do that. And the speed... WEEEE.

The simplest thing for us to do is to just make sure we leave in plenty of time to make it home for the game. The picnic actually folds up relatively early, as what the heck, it starts pretty early!

I'm with Patrick on this....(did I actually say that?)
I can say with a lot of certainty, that if you show up near the end of the pack, so that a bunch of us have already been through the same crossing booth, they will let you in no problem. They know you're part of a car club doing something fun and not a loonie.
Besides, bring more ID to back up the Passport and all will be well.
It's a nice run. Don't miss it.

Sorry guys, I grew up with Yankee's. I used to root for the Portland Trailblazers and even that has faded.
Now on to the important stuff.
This is the list that I put together for Lisa and I, hopefully it jogs the brain of a few people that might not be thinking of all the things they should have.
This is just a list of stuff from Canada.
4 chairs. (2 for us, 1 for Arianna and 1 extra) I don’t want to haul all the amounts we have.
Both Digital Cameras. Charged and with Blank SD cards in them for lots of Photos and Videos.
Blanket to lay on.
Sun Tan/block Lotion
At least one umbrella for Sun Shade.
The Folding Canopy.
Spare Tools and parts like Ignition Module, Pickup Coil and Ignition Coil.
Radar detector
Passports
GPS units programed with the Airport.
Ice Cooler
The FRS Radios are going to need Batteries.
If anyone has an extra folding canopy that will fit in there Fiero we can always use an extra down there.
Folding Chairs we always try to bring at least one extra.
Once we all get to the food Pavilion, we will take a final head count and go buy the food.
Food the club is buying
Burgers
Hot Dogs
Hot Dog Buns
Hamburger Buns
Lettuce
Tomatoes’
Pop in cans
Several bags of Ice
Knives and Forks
Spoons
Potato Chips
Assorted Picnic items
Napkins
I am sure there is other stuff, but we will see how it goes.
Remember if you are only paying dues as a single person and you are bring a guest, please toss Lisa roughly $5 for a child and $10 for an adult.

I have done, and I think it's a great game, but I don't enjoy it as much as hockey for two reasons. It's not nearly as fast as hockey, and I've never played it.

| Fast? Score of the Canuck's game: 1-0. Score of the last Salmonbellies game: 14-4. And from a player's perspective, I can assure you, lacrosse is quicker.

Ok Lisa is taking the Blazer with all the stuff in it, I am taking the Yellow 88 Fiero. (It passed Aircare today) The nice thing is I don't have the trailer so I can drive a bit quicker and have a bit more fun with you guys. Not as crazy as Tristen or John Carlo, but at least I'll be able to "keep up" with ya all.
See ya bright and early. P.S. 152nd Street has a Starbucks with a Drive Thru for those that want super coffees.

I was joking around guys. I know last year I did some rather insanely fast maneuvers, but I honestly was just showing off how well the trailer really works behind a Fiero. Entire trailer NEW from Harbor Freight was only $169. It was the only one they actually rated as safe for freeway speeds.
I actually do "plan" to keep it semi civil on this run. Now my civil and your civil might be two totally different things, but suffice it to say I won't be crossing the high side of 180 at all. Probably a nice 140kph cruise with a few quick zips to 160 to maneuver around traffic.

Ugh, I am still outside cleaning garbage from the car, sorting things to go in. Lisa is packing the cutting board and knives needed. We are still trying to find out box of AAA batteries for the FRS Radios as well. I have not even looked at fluid levels and I am pretty sure my trans is a little low. However its too dark to go out and check it tonight. Fortunately the Getrag has a dipstick, so it'll be a quick check in the morning.
Damn its after 10:30 we are not done packing, and I still need to take a shower.
Ya know having an 18 month old that can't yet be left alone outside while you are doing things, so you have to wait until after she goes to bed at 8:30pm really puts a damper on getting ready for these type of things. Ugh this is going to be a long night.

T maybe you and I will have to break away from the group for a couple quick zips then, I am sure Damian wants to stretch the legs of the new 3.4 as well. However like I said, no real crazy zipping in and out of traffic. Only open it up in a good clean straight, and if you see my pound my brakes, it means my Radar detector has gone off. If you see me tapping my brakes it means that there Might be cops.
P.S. People please remember to bring a spare set of clothes in case it gets really hot, or cools off.

Here is a quick teaser shot, I'll try to get the gallery done tonight, but if not look for it sometime tomorrow.
I just want to say a huge thanks to all the people of Jet City that made this happen and a huge thanks to all the members of West Coast Fiero's that helped Lisa and I pull this event together and a special thanks to those that took the time to cook the food on the BBQ in the sun that was nearly as hot as the BBQ itself.
