Have a 87 gt 5sp getrag ehich no longer works.
Picked up izuzu 5 sp is the a straight swap or ia the
extra work involved any tricks?

You need the shift cables from the Isuzu.
The air intake will slightly interfere with the shift cables.
You need the Isuzu slave cylinder (if it didn't come with one).
Good time to replace your tranny mounts.
If there's any doubts in your mind, replace the release bearing.
GM Synchromesh fluid is your friend.
